The co-creators of LivingDance~LivingMusic (LDLM) and four Indian women, at varying stages in their DMT studies, introduce basic dance movement elements of LDLM that appear both in the east and the west, give participants opportunities to embody and improvise with them as sources of improvisation, and describe how LDLM has affected them and their peers. In addition to discovering how LDLM can benefit themselves, participants will hear how LDLM can be applied to social and mental health challenges in India, triggered or reinforced by what Dr. Sudhir Kakar calls “building blocks” of India’s “cultural unconscious,” (e.g., patriarchy and caste.). Live music.
