Moving Moments in Childhood Series, Part 4

Session 4: Consciousness & Empathy – Kinesthetic Awareness in Clinical Practice

In this closing session, participants will deepen their understanding of kinesthetic empathy—the ability to sense and respond to others through movement—and its vital role in therapeutic connection. Dr. Lori Baudino and Rachael Singer, BC-DMT, will introduce a model of body knowledge that includes the “true temperature check,” a somatic tool for assessing emotional states and clinical needs. Through hands-on embodied practices, attendees will gain practical strategies for integrating movement into clinical intake and assessment, enhancing their ability to bring unconscious patterns into conscious therapeutic awareness.

Learning Objectives:

1. Participants will identify the premise of Kinesthetic Empathy and the importance of bringing movement to consciousness.

2. Participants will learn our model of body knowledge and our “true temperature check” for clinical applications.

3. Participants will gain hands-on experience through our embodied practices and a lens for clinical intake.
